Leadership
Director’s Message
At SKAN, our commitment is to advance high-quality science that addresses some of the most pressing challenges in ageing and neurological health. Over the past year, we have strengthened both our institutional framework and our research portfolio, building a robust foundation for sustained scientific impact.
We have expanded our multidisciplinary research programs spanning cardiovascular health, neurodegeneration, genomics, microbiome science, and healthy ageing. Our flagship initiatives focus on improving risk prediction, understanding disease mechanisms, and identifying pathways for early intervention and therapy. Alongside discovery science, we remain committed to developing translational models that can meaningfully improve clinical outcomes.
Institutionally, SKAN has achieved important regulatory and research recognitions from the Government of India, reinforcing our standing as a credible and compliant scientific research organization. These milestones reflect our emphasis on governance, biosafety, and research integrity.
Collaboration continues to be central to our approach. Through partnerships with leading national and international institutions—including the Quadram Institute of Biosciences and the Wellcome Sanger Institute—we are advancing global research efforts in genomics, neurodegenerative diseases, and innovative therapeutic strategies.
Most importantly, SKAN is building a dynamic team of scientists dedicated to rigorous inquiry, interdisciplinary thinking, and societal impact. By integrating cutting-edge technologies with collaborative science, we aim to generate knowledge that transforms the future of medicine and impacts millions of lives.
We look ahead with confidence, driven by scientific curiosity, responsibility, and a shared vision for healthier ageing.
