My experience at SKAN as a Field Data Collector (FDC) over the past year has been highly valuable and has helped me develop better communication skills, confidence, and a strong sense of motivation. When I first joined the organization, I was unsure whether I would be able to fit into the role. However, with time, guidance, and continuous support from the team, I gradually gained confidence. Today, being able to conduct training sessions myself reflects how much I have grown, and I owe this growth to the positive work environment and encouragement provided by the team.

Over the course of this journey, I have developed important skills such as communication, problem-solving, time management, and professional attitude. More importantly, this role introduced me to the field of public health and gave me numerous opportunities to learn from the community and understand people’s experiences and challenges.

Apart from work, the supportive team environment, refreshments, team activities, and monthly RASP training sessions have made the workplace enjoyable and refreshing. These activities have helped us stay motivated and return to work with renewed energy. I am truly happy and satisfied with the work I am doing. I am now better equipped to handle responsibilities, manage tasks effectively, and work collaboratively with the team. Interacting with the public has enhanced my communication skills, and listening to people’s life stories has taught me many valuable lessons and provided meaningful insights.

I am grateful for the opportunities, guidance, and learning experiences that the team has provided. From a career perspective, SKAN has given me valuable exposure to the public health sector and practical field experience. The knowledge and skills I have gained during this journey have prepared me well for future opportunities.

Looking back, the fears and uncertainties I had when I joined have been replaced with confidence, and I am proud of how much I have grown both personally and professionally.
