Biosketch

Dr. Ahalya P Gopi is a Public Health Researcher and Dental Surgeon currently serving as a Research Officer in the Public Health team. She is actively involved in the design, coordination, and implementation of the Heart Attack and Stroke Predictability (HASP) Study, a large population-based cohort study focused on cardiovascular disease risk prediction in India, as well as the Elderly Lifestyle and Indicators for Thriving and Engagement (ELITE) Study, a mixed-methods study examining the determinants of quality of life among the elderly population in urban Bengaluru.

She holds a postgraduate degree in Public Health (MPH) from JIPMER, Puducherry, along with a background in clinical dentistry (BDS). Dr. Ahalya brings an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates clinical insight with epidemiological research. Her professional experience spans academic research, public health programme implementation, and evidence synthesis, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing data-driven health policy and preventive care.
